For many people within the LGBTQ community, the single most powerful act they can partake in to gain independence, acceptance, and freedom in a world that too often denies them these qualities, is to come out of the closet. This action alone can be the first steppingstone in making a scornful, bigoted, and unaccepting society come to terms with their humanity.
